NOORA SÆTRE

FAMILY

Noora comes from one of the most affluent families on the continent. She is niece to the High Monarchs (who themselves have no children). In her app, I have her written as being the only daughter (but not necessarily the only child) on that side of the family tree, however, I am definitely open to amending that if someone wanted to play a sister of hers. Noora’s parents consider her a little rebellious for her androgynous fashion sense and activism. While she does not exactly strive to be a black sheep or to foster a contentious relationship with her immediate and extended family, it is becoming clearer to Noora that they likely will never give up pressuring her to marry well and provide them with grandchildren. No plans have been set, but lately she has been considering leaving home altogether.

FRIENDS

Noora is overall a very kind person and a loyal friend. She’s somewhere between introvert and extrovert—quiet, but seldom shy. She tends to be a little wary of people at first, especially from the upper classes, needing to be sure that people aren’t merely interested in using her for her influence or connections.

ENEMIES

I’m not sure Noora has necessarily made anyone’s *nemesis* list, but I don’t think it’s impossible either. She is a pacifist and an activist of women’s rights and also takes a special interest in the treatment of Elves & hybrids. She’s not afraid to speak her mind or stand up for herself and others (though she usually tries to be civil about it). Noora isn’t very apt to sugarcoat things without good reason and isn’t very shy about stating her opinion – qualities that have more than once lost her a friend.

LOVERS

Noora lost her virginity as a young teen to her slightly older beau. The day after, he decided to end their relationship and start courting someone else. Since then, she has sworn off relationships and sex, makes it a point to ward off suitors her parents try to pair her with, and is increasingly determined to end up a spinster. She believes in love and acknowledges attractions she might feel but does not seek them out. Apart from the residual affects of a somewhat traumatic end to her first relationship, Noora is also deeply afraid that marriage, even [ideally] to a like-minded man of no status, would rob her of her independence.

OTHER

I’m still kind of figuring out Noora and what plotlines I might seek with her, but I am always open to ideas!
