New to Giralda, I see. Well, it takes all sorts around here. Take that shifty-eyed weasel by the fire.
Oh, he acts looks like a simple merchant, peddling meager wares, but watch what you say around him. The Empire’s got ears everywhere...
See those two there? They seem all chummy now, but that’s only because Var is trying to convince Jarek to desert the navy in Thisbē and join
those lawless bastards who sail from the Spice Isles. I’m sure that one will kill the other before the week is out, once they’ve got what they want from each other.
Then there’s always the usual mercs; bastards who’d happily kill their own mothers for a coin. Oh, they say those twins from Brelan aren’t so bad,
but a merc is a merc, and money is all they see.
At least there're no damned elves here tonight. One got uppity last month when I insisted the
bastard slept in the stables. A damn generous offer for a half-breed, if you ask me!
Mind yourself if you head into the Wilds. It’s full of things that
would happily eat you and shit you out without a second thought. Even the people who hunt those things are more beast than civil.
Anyway stranger,
what'll it be: a room, or a drink?

CURRENT MONTH: AUREL, 762
This month marks the transition from the scorching sun of summer to the cooling of autumn. The night skies become more magnificent as shooting stars are more frequent, and auroras dance across the horizon. Aurel is a time of harvest when the farmers gather the crops that cannot withstand the upcoming heavy rains of Nandir.

INVENTORY
[attr="class","invheader"]SKILLS
◦ Healer (non-magic) | ◦ Combat | Idrial is largely a pacifist and her skill with any weapon is minimal, if that. She knows it would be unwise to travel/otherwise exist in this world without some means of protecting herself, and figures any fool with a blade has a chance at survival. And double the blades, double the chance of survival, right? ◦ Herbalist | Some formal training in her youth but largely self-taught through experimentation and constant perfecting. Idrial has multiple volumes (now starting her 5th) of hand-written recipes of her own design. one day, she hopes to have an extensive garden of all of her go-to's. ◦ Midwifery | Prior to her exile, Idrial was training to be a midwife and attended several births. Being a midwife is one of her great passions, a true calling, and something that soothes her impossible desires to become a birth mother herself. ◦ Highly literate ◦ Multilingual | Noverian (native tongue), common tongue (fluent), modern Elvish (fluent), ancient Elvish (novice), knows how to swear, barter, and ask for directions in a few other languages
[attr="class","invheader"]ANIMALS
◦ Castor & Pollux - twin dark grey mares, purchased cheaply on account of the local farmers' superstitions about twins being bad luck. Shared custody with Azazeal Mysra.
[attr="class","invheader"]WEAPONS
◦ Two daggers with decorative hilts, one fairly smaller than the other, virtually unused. A gift set from Azazeal Mysra.
[attr="class","invheader"]SUPPLIES
◦ A large satchel for her clothing, potions, and herbs ◦ Wooden mortar & pestle ◦ Medicinal ingredients ◦ Various [small] bottles and containers
MAGIC
Healing -- Idrial was born with the gift of healing physical damages and, with enough energy, even some lesser illnesses. Her diligent practice of this innate skill has greatly increased her stamina for its use on herself [MASTER]. She is able to use it on others (people and creatures) [ADEPT], however, it requires her to make a fairly deep connection with them in order for it to work properly - something she can find to be difficult in more ways than one. Additionally, it is not unusual for her to fall unconscious after healing someone (herself or another) or another creature, no matter their size.
[MASTER] Psychometry - Idrial has a keen sense for plants with healing properties and for those with damaging ones as well. Even if she has never seen the plant before, it is highly probable she will accurately determine whether or not it will be helpful or harmful.
[NOVICE] Mending - This nifty little ability allows Idrial to fix broken objects. She uses it sparingly, as it is much more difficult to control and requires her to use much more energy both because she cannot establish a connection with the inanimate and because she doesn't tend to use it as oft as she could.
[NOVICE] Transference - The ability to transfer or absorb the wounds, ailments, or illnesses of another. It is a highly risky power to use (for all involved) and difficult to control. More often than not, it is used by accident. Memory loss is common for either/both parties involved.
◦ Born the first and possibly only child to Erynion and Aurora of Noveria - an isolated yet diverse community of anti-magic people deep in the Wilds. ◦ Despite magic being strictly forbidden in Noveria, Idrial’s father encouraged her to develop her abilities in secret. ◦ Eventually, this would lead to her exile from Noveria and being permanently marked as a wytch. ◦ Her betrothed was severely injured during a hunting accident and her (successful) efforts to save him outed her as having fully developed powers. ◦ Exiled to the Wilds of Argos-Rho, Idrial worked tirelessly to survive on her own and practised her gifts everyday. ◦ People in those parts tended to be rather superstitious (nomads, especially) and it didn’t take much to convince people of ‘an evil presence’. After eating what small game she could capture, or upon finding dead animals, she would string them up in the trees surrounding her home, warding off the majoprity that came to pass. In fact, there was a good thirty years of solitude before someone came knocking at her door. ◦ A desperate man, bound, wounded, and being chased begged for her help. Hearing the men that were undoubtedly after the escaped man, she ushered him inside and hid him in her grain store. When he was sufficiently hidden she went to drive his captors away. The altercation ended with her being threatened and the men leaving none-the-wiser. Idrial soon learned that the man she had hid was named Azazeal Mysra and that he was supposed to kill those men, but was led to believe there would have been far fewer than there were. He claimed it was a betrayal and wanted revenge. She was intrigued by his plans and offered to help him carry them out, but first he would require healing and a decent meal. From that day on, they were inseparable. ◦ Idrial traveled with Azazeal up until he went into training to become a Judicar. Shortly thereafter, she was employed by Isto Rivenn of the High Council when she had been in the right place at the right time to save his life. ◦ After Azazeal's training with the Judicars was complete, Idrial tendered her resignation with the king and happily resumed a more nomadic lifestyle with Az.
